Standard Growing Tips
Frequent watering is necessary as the soil will tend to dry out easily in the hot sun and/or wind. Watering every other day is likely required and watering every day in some environments may be essential.

We recommend planting with a well-drained soil mix and the use of a slow release fertilizer to provide nutrients slowly over the growing season.

For the best harvest use an additional fertilizer for supplemental feedings. Once a week give each plant a good watering with a water soluable fertilizer such as Peters® 20-20-20 or Miracle-Gro® 15-30-15 at the recommended rate. You can consult your local garden center for recommendations.

Be sure to never fertilize plants when they are dry. Water the plants thoroughly first, so you do not burn them out.

To promote continued fruit/vegetable formation, be sure to keep mature crops harvested.

From year to year, keep track of your soil mix, fertilizing, and watering techniques noting growing results. Over time, you will be able to develop a plan customized to your region that produces bigger harvests and better tasting crops.
